Postpartum and recovery after the birth
The first few days after the birth are a valuable time of arrival, recovery and familiarisation. In our maternity centre, we create a calm and secure environment in which you and your baby receive the best possible care.
Our concept: all-round care for mother and child
Our experienced nursing staff and midwives will accompany you on your individual journey into motherhood. We attach great importance to sensitive and professional care that is tailored to your personal needs.
Bonding and rooming-in
Immediately after the birth, we encourage bonding by placing your newborn baby naked on your chest. This first intensive skin-to-skin contact helps your child to get used to the new environment, strengthens their basic trust and makes it easier to start breastfeeding.
Rooming-in is a matter of course for us: your baby stays with you day and night. This gives you enough time to get to know each other, understand your child's signals and build a strong parent-child bond. If you need a break, we are always there to support you.
Individual care and expertise for a safe start
Our nursing staff and breastfeeding counsellors will support you in the first few days after the birth:
- Assistance with breastfeeding and feeding your baby
- Tips on caring for and handling your newborn baby
- Answers to all your questions about the postpartum period
- Support for your carer to make the most of your time together

Aftercare by a midwife
After the birth, you will have an experienced midwife at your side who will provide you with personalised support and help you to find your feet in your new life situation.
Your benefits of aftercare:
- Personalised support: the midwife will answer questions about your baby's care, nutrition and development.
- Breastfeeding counselling and milk production: Support with breastfeeding or alternative feeding methods.
- Health checks for mother and child: Checks on uterine involution, wound healing and baby's weight gain.
- Assistance with uncertainties: Personalised advice on baby care, sleeping patterns and parent-child bonding.
Up to eight weeks after the birth, you can take advantage of 10 to 16 home visits by a midwife.
