The new service is called "Visit - Zollikerberg Hospital at Home®" and was developed by Zollikerberg Hospital together with the Neumünster Institute. To date, around 30 patients with an average age of 68 and an average treatment duration of 5.5 days have been treated at home.
Accompanying research by the Neumünster Institute shows that patient safety has been guaranteed at all times and that patients and their relatives are extremely satisfied with the new treatment programme. It also works very well from a medical point of view. In addition, the active inclusion of the social situation makes the treatment more holistic. Patients are also generally more active at home, which can have a positive impact on the recovery process.
All "Visit patients" and their relatives are asked to complete a questionnaire to find out how satisfied they are with the treatment concept. The evaluations are extremely positive across the board. When asked whether they would opt for this type of treatment again, 95% of patients answered "yes" or "rather yes". This shows that our new treatment concept is the first of its kind in Switzerland to be very well received. The media have also shown great interest in this unique and innovative offer. For example, our Marketing and Communications department has received various enquiries from SRF.
