A successful thank-you event for our volunteers
October 29, 2024
The annual thank-you event for our volunteers took place on 28 October 2024. We were delighted by the many registrations and the evening was a pleasure. New contacts were made at the drinks reception. The scenic reading "Our Souls at Night" by Kent Haruf was a source of humour and food for thought: Closeness, loneliness, second chances and the freedom to enjoy life regardless of the opinions of others were central themes. The message: no matter what people think - you can't let anyone spoil your happiness.
After the reading, the event continued with a joint dinner at the Oase restaurant in the Hottingen retirement centre. The conversations were lively and various speeches expressed appreciation for the commitment of the volunteers. As a parting gift, there were "Nerven-Guetzli" - a symbolic thank you for the valuable work that volunteers do for patients, residents and tenants every day. A gesture that was met with cheerfulness - something that volunteers often experience in their work.
