Growing together: 31 new apprentices start at Gesundheitswelt Zollikerberg
August 18, 2025
In the week from 11 to 15 August 2025, 31 new apprentices started their journey at Gesundheitswelt Zollikerberg - including healthcare specialists, business administrators, cooks, logistics specialists, medical practice assistants and IT specialists. They are starting in various companies and areas of our organisation: Zollikerberg Hospital, Neumünster Park Catering, Human Resources, ICT and Neumünster Park Residence, Hottingen Health Centre and Hottingen Retirement Home.
Cross-foundation, interprofessional and with heart
Organised by the learning and education centre at Gesundheitswelt Zollikerberg, the induction week was specifically designed to give the new trainees a comprehensive insight into the diverse institutions, areas of responsibility and values of our foundation. They also got to know all the people responsible for education who organised the week together.
Under the motto "Seeing the whole picture", the focus was on interprofessional cooperation - because those who start together also grow together.
External trainees from our cooperation partnerships also took part in the induction week, completing their internship at Zollikerberg Hospital, a company of Gesundheitswelt Zollikerberg. By taking part, they not only make a valuable contribution to the diversity of the group, but also have the opportunity to network with internal apprentices at an early stage. This allows them to get to know each other and start their day-to-day work together, which promotes dialogue, strengthens understanding of different perspectives and helps to shape interprofessional cohesion from the outset.

A highlight: the programme specially designed for students
The aim was to create an awareness of the overall picture of the Zollikerberg healthcare world across institutional boundaries:
How diverse is our working environment? Who works where - and how do the tasks interlock?
These and other questions were addressed in exciting, interactive formats.
Insight into the week's activities
We focussed on participative learning and encounters - playful, educational and connecting:
- Get-to-know-you game: Making new contacts, creating a relaxed atmosphere - breaking down inhibitions.
- Interactive post run: Playful exploration of the various companies and their locations.
- Cross-word puzzle: Riddles instead of theory - get to know the dos and don'ts of everyday working life in a fun way.
- Stand-up lunch to exchange ideas: Eat together, engage in dialogue and form networks across professional groups.
- Photo session for the ID card: A symbolic step on your own training path.
- Get to know the goals and processes of the training programme: Actively help shape the training programme - be involved from the very beginning.
- Develop initial learning content in e-learning courses and inputs: Shaping the introduction to learning.
- Foundation day with a change of perspective: gaining a better understanding of the big picture through external perspectives. What are our values?
A strong foundation for successful training
This week has created a common basic understanding - for openness, team spirit and interprofessional understanding. We are thus laying the foundations for a training programme that focuses on cooperation and holistic care and support. Our values were: Appreciation, partnership, commitment, seeing the whole picture and transparency have always been a central theme. Gesundheitswelt Zollikerberg welcomes you to our world and wishes you an inspiring and successful start to your professional future.
