Breast cancer: ‘You don’t have to go through this alone’

A diagnosis of breast cancer often raises many questions – medical, personal and everyday ones. In this interview, she explains what concerns those affected most, how they and their families are supported, and why having a trusted point of contact during treatment can be so valuable.

Working together for a strong healthcare region

Healthcare is changing: patients are increasingly being cared for along treatment pathways and across organisational boundaries. In the Zurich region, on the right bank of Lake Zurich and in the Zurich Oberland, this networked care is already a reality. Männedorf Hospital, Uster Hospital, Zollikerberg Hospital and the Hirslanden Clinic in Zurich work closely together. They demonstrate how different areas of expertise can contribute to safe, high-quality care that is close to home.

Breastfeeding: What really matters in the first few days

Breastfeeding is a natural process, yet it is not always straightforward. Especially in the first few days, mum and baby need to get to know each other and find their own rhythm together. How often should a baby be breastfed? How can you tell if they’re hungry or getting enough breast milk? And what can you do if breastfeeding is painful? Our breastfeeding counsellor offers guidance on getting off to a good start with breastfeeding and shares her everyday experiences.
