On 1 April, Christian Etter took over from Dr Orsola Vettori, who is retiring after more than 20 years of successful hospital management.
Thanks to his many years of experience as Head of Finance and Deputy Hospital Director at Zollikerberg Hospital, 54-year-old business economist Christian Etter is very familiar with the special features of the hospital and is very well connected. Since the mid-1990s, he has held management positions in finance and accounting in various sectors and is a recognised expert in this field. Before joining Zollikerberg Hospital, he was a member of the management of the Zurich Children's and Youth Homes Foundation and the Swiss Technical College Winterthur STFW, in addition to his management positions in finance.
In addition to his high level of professional expertise, he is a person with strong social skills. Cooperation on an equal footing with internal colleagues as well as external partners and institutions was and is a particular concern of his. As his predecessor Dr Orsola Vettori successfully did, Christian Etter wants to cultivate and further develop the hospital's special corporate culture, in which patient-centricity and partnership are lived.
Christian Etter is looking forward to the new challenge as Hospital Director. He is proud to be taking over such a well-positioned hospital, both in terms of personnel and finances. It is also good to know that he has a well-rehearsed hospital management team and highly motivated and competent employees behind him.
