Spinal surgery
A vertebral fracture is usually caused by strong force, for example in sports, household or car accidents. If the bone structure is already weakened, for example due to osteoporosis or cancer, a vertebra can also collapse without any external impact. Even the slightest jolts and movements cause severe pain in the affected section of the spine in the event of a vertebral fracture. However, a dull, long-lasting pain can also indicate a vertebral fracture. A change in posture or a decrease in height can also indicate the collapse of several vertebral bodies.
