Elevated cholesterol levels often go unnoticed for a long time, but can significantly increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. In our lipid consultation, we specifically clarify lipometabolic disorders and develop an individual treatment strategy together with you - from lifestyle counselling to modern drug therapy.
Who is the lipid consultation intended for?
For patients with:
- Elevated cholesterol or triglyceride levels
- Suspicion of a familial or genetic lipid metabolism disorder (e.g. familial hypercholesterolaemia or hypertriglyceridaemia)
- Persistently elevated lipid levels despite guideline-compliant therapy
- Complex lipid situation or increased cardiovascular risk requiring specialised assessment

The consultation is interdisciplinary and involves the following specialist disciplines:
Specialised diagnostic investigations - such as genetic tests for suspected familial lipometabolic disorders or extended cardiovascular risk evaluations - are carried out in close collaboration with the Institute of Medical Genetics (UZH).
