Communication skills for antenatal ultrasound scans

This course focuses on professional communication in the context of antenatal ultrasound scans. It is accredited and is a prerequisite for obtaining the fertility certificate. Participants will develop key skills in conversation and counselling, and will explore the psychological aspects of doctor-patient communication as well as the specific challenges of antenatal counselling. Using practical case studies, interactive group discussions and joint reflections, they develop strategies for risk counselling, supporting decision-making processes and dealing professionally with difficult conversational situations. The focus is on direct applicability to everyday clinical practice, with the aim of promoting empathetic, clear and patient-centred communication. The training course is aimed at medical staff.
